Anyone going to the UCF/ECU game? I'm over in Ft. Bragg, NC and I'm planning on heading to the game.

First I am going to make it clear that I am a Gator fan, through and through. But cheering for all the teams in the Great State of Florida is a higher priority to me than the SEC.

I thought the hire of "O'dreary" was questionable from the outset. After the Notre Dame fiasco, he should have been untouchable, let alone the contratct that he recieved from UCF. Kevin Smith is the only thing that has kept hime from having a losing season every year (and I don't need to mention the issues with the way he runs his program). UCF needs to just cut their losses and raise the $5 mil.

I also saw on earlier post mention of Charlie Strong in connection with the hopefull vacancy. He is far to excellent a coach to remain the DC at Florida forever (although I sure would love for him to). If I got the chance to pick his destination, I would love for him to stay in state and put UCF back on the map. Although, then he could possible outshine my beloved Gators.........

Well he did manage to make it almost a half before he benched his golden boy Calabrese. He sings his praises all during the off season them doesn't even give the guy a half. Fortunately for him, Hodges played pretty well. Can we please make him the QB now? Can we have a QB play who's not looking over his shoulder?

FIRE O'LEARY AND TRIBBLE. If Tribble is going to down with the ship and O'Leary, then let's get rid of him now too. He made the decision to box UCF in with a $5MM buyout for O'Leary. UCF football is going backwards.

Tribble came up with a B.S. excuse to fire Kruczek. Integrity? Then, he hires O'Leary with his Notre Dame resume issues? You have got to be kidding me. We need a new coach. One with a passing game.

I'm so embarrassed by the product that UCF puts on the football field. God help us. I can't take 4 more years of O'Leary. I'm already O'bleary eyed watching this Samford game.

What should we expect to see in this game. O'Leary has publicly stated that he "expects to win " the C-USA championship this year. If that is the case then we should expect to see the offense score at least 35 points on a FCS opponent. The entire front seven is back on defense so Samford should be doing a lot of punting. If this game is close, we are in trouble. Last year's 17-0 win over SC State was a bad sign. If FCS opposition is holding us to 17 points, start turning up the temperature on the hot seat.

My most memorable UCF game, ebem though I didn't see it live, has to be the '00 'Bama game. We had finally after so many close valls beaten a “big name” program. Ironically while the game was being played, I was at All Tel Stadium in Jacksonville at the Florida Georgia game. Every time the UCF score was posted on the giant tv screen in the end zone I would jump up and yell like a crazy person. Of course there would be nothing going on at the time where I was so people were looking at me like I was nuts. I would point to the scoreboard and tell them I was a student there. I really went crazy when the final score went up. That was a good day.

I don't buy that the players think it's bad luck. It seemed to work out well when Dante wore black at UCF. If you really look at it, we've lost a LOT more games than just 2 in the gold uniforms... which are hideous. For those who play NCAA 09, they put a black alternate uniform for UCF, and it doesn't look bad at all.

The reason we don't wear the black is because the players believe that those jerseys are jinxed. I believe the last two times they were worn that we lost. I know the last time UCF wore them it was a tuesday night game against So. Miss and we lost. It was also on national tv (ESPN) in 2006 the off year of no bowl game.

I was content to just show up for our 1st bowl outing. Last year when my friend and I drove 14 hours to watch a poor offensive performance by the Knights, I was expecting a win. As fans we shouldn't be content with simply showing up to a minor bowl game. Until UCF is a respected program playing in a BCS bowl game, I won't be content. Now granted, I realize that is some time away, but that's where I think we can and SHOULD be eventually.

I was a bit busy in the sand box at the time, but what was the reasoning behind all the change? I dug the fact that we were the Golden Knights. The Golden Knights (the US Army free fall team) would usually jump into a home game each season. It set us aside from Rutgers and West Point. As for the uniforms, if I hear that excuse that "black uniforms are hotter for the players," I'm going to flip. I wore 100 pounds of gear in 140 degree heat. Let me tell you, the color of my uniform wouldn't have made the least bit of difference. Hot, is hot. Bring back the black!

I definitely saw it. It was the only part of the game I was really pleased with. I'm a Cowboys fan, so anytime the Eagles lose, I'm content. Being a die hard Cowboys fan, I have to overcome the fact that 2 of our DBs went to USF.

After yesterday's presser, it doesn't sound real promising. If there was an opening, I would think he would be interviewed ASAP. Tribble is a UF alum after all. I'm sure he has Strong's phone number on speed dial.
