UCF had a championship within it’s grasp and they choked it away. How? Poor coaching. You cannot make a terrible mistake like not killing a live football and letting a guy pick it up and score a cheap touchdown. That’s a bush league mistake. A coach with as many years under his belt as O’Leary has to be better than that! That’s inexcusable! I’ve been saying this for years now and I will say it again, FIRE HIM!! FIRE HIM NOW!! You will never get anywhere in big time college football giving away games like this. NEVER! This game was BLOWN! You let them score at the end of the first half on a drive that should have been stopped. Their coach kept making bonehead decisions not to kick field goals, he’s practically handing the championship tropy to you with a bow on it, and you drop it and smash it into a million pieces.
So now we are playing a bowl game within driving distance from campus at the Trop. I hate to tell people not to show up, but I sure understand why many won’t bother. It’s going to be hard to get excited about playing in this game knowing we choked away the Liberty Bowl bid. Maybe after two off weekends the fury over this game will go away a bit and I’ll feel like catching one more game before the long off-season begins. I don’t know. But right now, I am just disgusted that we had two shots at a glorified high school and couldn’t beat them once.

I think the thing that shocked me the most was that out of all the players on the field at the time, only one seemed to understand the mistake and he returned it for a touchdown. The others were obviously clueless. Coaching.

Typical game under GOL..1) Our “so-called” great defense cant stop anyone with a decent offense! 2) Bad in-game decisions (taking a time out at the end of the half in which Tulsa uses to their advantage to score a TD! 3) Not having your team understand the rules of downing a punt!
Again, under GOL this team will never be more than a Mid-Lower level program. We will stay a status quo CUSA team (in the BE) with 2-3 star recruits. Enjoy it!!!

What does he see in Blake Bortles?!?! Please tell me? Bortles is not a winner!! He is a game manager… did you see how open the middle of that field was? A running QB would have eaten them up… Godfrey would have had over 100 yards rushing. I know O’Leary hates scrambling QB’s but the place these athletic QB’s DO WORK, its college!! Not so much in NFL (although that seems to be changing), but definitely in College.
I hate that we stick with O’Leary. Look, honestly, I appreciate what he has done for UCF… I really do, but he has taken the bus as far up the Mountain as he can. Time for an new innovative, hungry young coach trying to make a name for himself to take over this growing program and drive it to the next level!! And now is the BEST TIME. There is no pressure to make the post-season next year because we are NOT winning this appeal!! So a new guy would have 2 “pressure-less” years to build his team and right the ship for the long haul.
Make the change NOW!! (after the “Beef-eater Bowl” or the “Beefcake Bowl” or the “Beef Chow Mein”, “Beef Flavored Raman”, Beef-whatever Bowl – What a name – its like “made up” like the “participation award” kids get for “trying.” I don’t care about it and no prestiege comes with it – Heck, will ESPN even cover it or will it be televised on PBS Kids right after Teletubbies?!?!)

George O’Leary is choking away the 2012 Beef O’Brady’s Bowl Trophy to Ball State soon too!!! At the end of Friday it will be Ball State’s Pete Lembo holding up the trophy, not O’Leary!!!
