Another 8-5. Another Bowl loss. So I guess you can pencil us in for 4-8 next year? I’m out. I’m tired of beating my head against the wall. You guys can have it.

Yup. I predicted this loss and a long bowl night in my post on Nov 26th. Despite the fact that the team forgot to practice the week before the game, I had a great time because of all the excited fans that came over for the game. It’s a shame that so many are devoted to seeing a great football program. As long as Coach O’Leary remains at the helm, we will be stuck in the mid-major pits. Don’t look for a Big East invite. O’Leary couldn’t consistantly coach in the Sun Belt conference…

That game was painful to watch. Where was the emotion and passion on our sideline? I know George is a bundle of energy and a dynamic, charismatic person (ya right) but I saw nothing resembling energy. Maybe it was because our seats were almost in Clearwater, but I could see the white jerseys and they didn’t seem to be into the game at all. It showed. Wow, George can fire these guys up huh? I emailed GKC asking if we can donate to his buy-out. I’m not holding my breath. Wake me up when his 10 year deal is done.

Here’s what sent me over the top. We score on a beautiful play to make it 21-17. The defense then makes a great stand and forces a punt. The punt is downed at our 10. I say to my friends I’m watching with that “we need to kill the clock and go in down 4″. No sooner do the words come out of my mouth, we drop back to pass and throw an interception and the guy waltzes into the end zone. It kills whatever momentum we had going into the locker room, it makes a manageable 4 point deficit an 11 point deficit. And they get the ball to start the second half with the momentum. They drive down for a score and now we’re down 18. Ballgame. Stupid!

O’Lary coached UCF right out of an upset win against Rutgers. Not onyl was their no passion in the players, but his decisions were questionable at best. After the second INT, Hodges should’ve been pulled in favor of Calabrese. Several times this year Hodges literally threw the game away and yet O’Leary still kept him in there. The defense played a great game, but got worn out covering for the offense’s mistakes.

UCF will continue to stumble along and be an average team as long as O’Leary is left at the helm. The man can’t recruit, can’t coach, can’t motivate, and is a poor football coach.

That wasn’t Hodges’ fault. That was just a stupid play call. Hodges was clearly the better QB this year. In fact, had O’Leary gone to him right after the Samford game, we’d be getting ready for the Libery Bowl right now.

Ok, I’ll give you that. Just illustrates that the coaching was at fault for losing that game. We could still get a Big East invite, they’d love to have a new door mat in the conference, that is assuming the Big East is still around as a conference. My bet is, the Big 10 takes a team from the Big East, Big East is in danger of disolving unless they get three teams to replenish the ranks fast.

If that does happen and UCF gets in the Big East, hopefully we’ll have a new coach, and get a chance to get some payback against USF.
