Congratulations to Coach O’Leary and the Knights on a HUGE win on Saturday! We at fireoleary.com will give it one more year (as if we have a choice anyway). If the Knights and Coach O’Leary have a successful season next year, proving they can get off the every other year roller coaster, we will suspend efforts to remove O’Leary as head coach. We will now be rooting like mad for East Carolina to lose tonight to keep the Knights’ conference title hopes alive. Should we win the C-USA East, I will gladly eat my words on George getting us eliminated in September. Again, congrats to the Knights on beating the first ranked opponent in school history. Now that we all know it can be done, let’s do it again! GO TULSA!

As I said in the previous post comments. I expect more now. I expect us to win out. We have the team, so I expect us to live up to it. I will Be happy if GOL can right this ship, I know this is suppose to be our good year, and I hope it continues over to next. But if not I expect a new young upcoming superstar coach to take the rains. For this season, LETS GO TULSA tonight. And lets run the table boys, I know you can do it.

You hit the nail on the head: validate it. If he goes 8-4, even 7-5, and a bowl game, great. If he wins the bowl game, better. But if he turns around and goes 5-7 next season, it’s all for naught. He should have been 8-4 the last four seasons, and he should be 8-4 the rest of the way. Too much money, too much talent, too many facilities not to be 8-4 in this conference.

After the game I was excited about the win. Huge upset and great win for the program. But after a few days I wonder why we can’t win at a more consistent level. Why should we be satisfied with a 7-5 win season or 8-4? We should be dominating conference USA opponents. I still say it’s time for a change!!!!

You can’t fire the guy right after our first win vs. a ranked opponent. You would look foolish. No decent coach would look our way. He would say “No thanks, you people are way too demanding.” 8-4 is not that bad. If we follow it up with a 9-3 next year and a C-USA East title, I’d be willing to give him another year. Remember we were 8-4 in ‘05 and ‘07 too. And there is still a small chance 8-4 will get us to the championship game this year too. Although it is a very small chance.
But I agree that we should’ve beaten At least one of the two between USM and ECU. Had we done so we are really in the driver’s seat right now. Both of those games were very winnable.
