Close Panel

Last year we played Miami pretty evenly at their place. This year however, Miami seems to be much improved. But looking at their season from a bit further back, who have they really beaten? FSU? They are now so awful that even the most staunch Bowden fans are screaming for his head. Ga. Tech? They are pretty good, but not great. They nearly blew a 24-0 at home vs. Clemson. Clemson is terrible. Oklahoma? A team depleted by injuries to key players who lost to a team the FSU pounded.. I think we have the capability of keeping this game close. But we can’t let harris stand there all day. We must bring the heat. Otherwise, it will get ugly.

I think Miami will play us a lot tougher than they did last year. I know they weren’t great last year, but I believe they looked right past us on their schedule. We won’t have that benefit this year. Almost losing to a nobody will do that. In my opinion UCF is going to face the most dangerous QB they have all season. This Harris kid is really good. Sure he’s made some mistakes this season, but he’s still learning, so he’s only going to get better. I have concerns about our secondary being able to stop Miami’s passing attack. Our offense looked ok the 2nd half against Memphis, but come on.. it’s Memphis. Miami’s defense is going to be significantly better, so Harvey isn’t going to have another 200 yard game. If UCF can play to its full potential, then this game will come down to things like penalties, play calling decisions, and special teams. As a true UCF fan, I still have hope we can win this thing. Despite the fact that a win would extend O’Leary’s stay at UCF, I’ll swallow that pill. A win here gets us mentioned on ESPN and will do wonders for recruiting. I read the rumor about the possibility of black jerseys for the game? Please tell me there’s some truth to this!

Win? I was just hoping we don’t get destroyed. I was on a betting site yesterday. According to their “power rankings” UCF is #1 in C-USA. We’re 4-0 against the spread. Maybe we can make it 5-0. We can celebrate a “moral victory” Tennessee style.

Oh come on. Where’s your UCF spirit? You know how this works. The team plays well enough to stay in the game. You have just enough hope to think we can pull this off, then they blow it in the end. Miami (last year), Texas, USF, BC (ok so they blew that one the entire 2nd half, but you still thought we could win 1st half), Liberty Bowl, Hawaii Bowl, …. need I go on? I think this “Change you can believe in!” has you a bit jaded. Sorry to hear about that by the way. I voted for the other guy, but apparently I’m in need of change. I was pretty content with how things were, but what do I know?

Well give the guy credit. He did promise change. Little did we know it would be from employed and making good money, living in a nice house, etc. to unemployed, no money and living in a van down by the river. In this game i would probably settle for keeping it close for a while. I don’t want to see one of those Pittsburgh/Va Tech games where we might as well go home at halftime.
