Once again a game we could have won. #81 makes a great catch on a deep ball and then once again reminded me why I call him “stone hands” by dropping an easy one in the end zone from inside the 10. Next play was a pick. 0 points. The defense once again played very well. Once again the offense lets them down. To be fair, the officiating was awful. I’m watching the game on BHSN and they are using the feed from ECU. On one play their own annoncers were sure they had committed offensive pass interference. Nope. It goes against us. They get a first down inside the 15 and turn it into a TD. Earlier we get a nice run up the middle in their territory and fumble. It looks like we jump on the ball first, but they unpile everybody and an ECU guy comes out with the ball. They give it to ECU. I’m ok with that. That’s football. Anything goes in one of those piles. You bite someone if you have to. Because normally they give it to whoever comes out with it. But a few minutes later, ECU fumbles. Thet pile ensues. We come out with the ball. And they give it to ECU. If George doesn’t get a fine this week for blasting the refs, he should be fired for that.

Against better judgment, I went to the UCF/ECU game still full of hope. Hope that we might finally have an offense. Hope that we can win this game and possibly even make a run at the conference championship. One day later I’m back to the EXACT same frustrations I had after last year’s ECU game that I attended. I only had to make the drive from Fort Bragg, NC, just an hour and a half away. I felt bad for the fans that drove from Florida. The put all of this money, time, and effort into this program, and O’Leary delivers a crap product. I’m tired of paying for crap. There is no excuse for it. UCF is in a great location surrounded by great prospects each year.. but do we get them? No. I’m well aware of the buyout cost, but aren’t we coming close to that price tag being worth it? If UF or FSU had made the same mistake in coaching selection I don’t think they would hesitate in paying whatever cost to bring a quality coach, and in turn, develop a quality program. Yes I know UF and FSU make a whole lot more money than UCF, but maybe if we start acting like a big program we’ll start BEING a big program. As much as I hate USF, I do respect their arrogance a bit. They feel they should be good and carry themselves like they are. They were ranked #2, so you have to give them some credit. Yeah it was a fluke, but I know good and well if UCF had been ranked #2 for just a week we’d still be riding that high to this day. Just so we’re clear.. I still had USF. I’m tired of watching UCF games the same way I did when I started in 1999. I’m tired of being surprised when we win. It’s about time UCF football matured a bit and started taking it’s place on the national stage. George, I appreciate the effort that was made to bring us to where we are. The facilities are great, the fan base is there (or at least was until last season and this one), and the program is ready to grow. It just can’t happen with you Mr. O’Leary. If you want to be remembered in a good light, let UCF know that you’ll step down without the buyout. Tell the fans that $5,000,000 would be better spent on helping the program than lining your pockets. Do that, and you will be remembered as the man who got us started on the right foot.

I didn’t mention the 3rd and longs because when you only allow 19 points, you ought to win the game. Especially in this conference. Go back and research how often teams who score under 20 points win in this league. I bet it’s not many.
Hank. Sorry you have to be there in enemy territory and now have to listen to the ECU fans rub it in. I guess we’ll find out if that’s rtue about FSU soon enough. If Jimbo Fisher ends up with the head coaches job, somebody needs to start the “fire Jimbo” site immediately. Don’t hold your breath waiting for GOL to “do the right thing”. That’s why this site exists. If we don’t say something, he’ll be coach here for ten more years. Whoever it was that got us in the MAC needs to be slapped silly. That move set us back a decade and opened the doot for USF to blow right past us.

just have to laugh at the thought of GOL stepping down, haha

Why don’t we run on first down? Oh I’m sorry,we almost always do!! If we had used the pass play(that we used on the last play of the game) on our first down at least we could have beat the spread!! Come on, beat something!
Texas didn’t beat us. Idiotic play calling did.
Next year, I’m putting my donation toward buying out O’weary’s contract. Anybody with me?

I would if I had a job. I don’t know about the play calling. It’s hard to tell when your not able to run the ball or throw because your O-Line is just outmanned. That’s the real difference between the haves and the have nots in college football. It’s the D-lines and the O-lines. That’s where games are won and lost. You can recruit all the big arm QBs and speedy wide outs you want but if the line can’t block, it aint gonna do you any good.
