We’re not even going to PRETEND black is our main school color anymore? NO black and gold game? Now it’s the white and gold game? Can a coach just on a whim decide to change the school colors? Apparently. Because that’s what’s happened. What happens if he wants to change the mascot to a bee? Memo to George. We are NOT Ga Tech! Our colors are BLACK AND GOLD!! Just ask a cheerleader.

What has happened to UCF? Apparently the Athletic Association and Administration are dancing to O’Leary’s tune. Pathetic!
I guess they don’t care about all of the UCF alumni, they are alienating all of us who have supported the school and athletic association since its inception. O’Leary must be in a time warp and thinks he is back at GT. Our school colors are black and gold, we are the Knights, would the Administration please remind O’Leary and Tribble about that.
I’ll let my wallet speak for me; no more contributions as long as O’Leary is allowed to drag down the football program and the UCF name.

No Black, no Gold, no Golden, just Knights. Okay, what’s next, lose the Medieval knight in full metal plate armor and substitute a Spanish Knight in search of gold and the fountain of youth? It would make sense to this non-UCFer. It does seem silly to cheer Gold! Black! when those colors are not on the field, but who’s looking bad? The team? No, they know what they’re wearing. Those cheering for the wrong colors and the wrong knight. Come on alumni, create a cohesive identity. The school needs it to market itself.

I see plenty of Gold. I just don’t see the black. I don’t have a problem with the gold jerseys. But how about some black helmets? Or black numbers on the jerseys? Something? And the Spring game? That should ALWAYS be known as the Back and Gold game. What if Florida’s Spring game got changed to the Blue and White game? They would riot in the streets of Gainesville. What about the White and Gold game in Tallhassee? Think that would fly? Don’t think so.

I agree that this administration seems to have bent over and grabbed their ankles to a resume’ cheating, retirement seeking coach of suspect performance. (C-USA Coach of the Year awards due-ly noted) Changes in the program to improve a marketable identity should be driven by the alumni and school, not the coach. Removing the Black without adjusting the cheer and dropping the Golden leaving just Knights exposes more stupid school decisions on par with building a stadium without water fountains in our semi-tropical environment. Maybe, just maybe, the school will take notice at their loss of alumni revenue and ask what THEY can do better instead of blaming the alumni for not supporting them.

I wouldn’t mind the coach making some suggestions on things like new uniforms if it wasn’t blatantly obvious he was trying to make us look like his former team (Georgia Tech). If Tech was so great, why did you leave, George? You want Gold Jerseys? Fine. Then wear black helmets.
