Congratulations to Joe Burnett on being selected by the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers. I believe a successful NFL career is ahead of him. UCF is on its way to becoming “Defensive back U” with Samuel, Fisher, Bigby and now Burnett. Let’s see if G.O. can use this as a recruiting tool.

We’re not even going to PRETEND black is our main school color anymore? NO black and gold game? Now it’s the white and gold game? Can a coach just on a whim decide to change the school colors? Apparently. Because that’s what’s happened. What happens if he wants to change the mascot to a bee? Memo to George. We are NOT Ga Tech! Our colors are BLACK AND GOLD!! Just ask a cheerleader.

Good or bad, win or lose, I look forward to college football season all year. Even when I don’t think we have as good of a team or coach as I would like, I still am excited for the season to start. I actually fell optimistic about this year. After all, O’Leary has that “every other year” thing down and this is one of the up years. So we should be looking at a Bowl bid. Right now I’m hoping to see some offense this year. Even if the D slips a bit if we can score a few points at least the games won’t be as ugly as last year. Those games were just brutal.
