It’s gonna be interesting how they’ll be attempting to fill up the seats (at the football stadium) this upcoming season. They need to get in touch with reality and lower those ridiculous prices.
On another note, do you think Mike Leach (Texas Tech head coach) has the balls to sit-out this year and wait for a good coaching gig or hold out for a bigger contract with Texas Tech? I think Leach is pulling another Manny Ramirez. That fool needs to look around at the current situation and come back to Earth. This isn’t the same economy as what it was at the beginning of the millenium. But it’s not exactly like Texas Tech has an advantage/leverage. The team just lost their #1 QB and #1 WR and, last time I checked, the Red Raiders use their offense as a defensive tool.
Lastly, this is the period (in the year) where most football fans start having “the shakes” after viewing a terrific football season. In the next few months, fans will get a “quick fix” with the private workouts/NFL combines leading up to the NFL draft. After that, absolutely nothing until the fantasy football magazines start coming out. Where’s NFL Europe when you need them?!!!
That was such a bad idea (in my opinion) by the NFL… Just when attendance was increasing every year (with each franchise), they decide to shutdown NFL’s minor league.
Or maybe the NFL knew the future global financial meltdown that currently exists and were acting (as opposed to the U.S. government which is mostly reacting to every present crisis). And, in this case, I’d have to give them paramount kudos…
Or maybe the NFL just got lucky on their decision (to shutdown NFL Europe) due to other circumstances and, coincidentially avoided possible Financial Armageddon (on their part).
