Recruiting update

By FCOadmin. Posted in General | 11 Comments »

Remember my thread about being disgusted about being #66? Well now we are only a few short weeks away from National Signing Day, and we are not tied for 71st! Florida, Miami, and FSU are all in the top 12. USF is at 35. And we are in 71st place. Pathetic. Why did we build all these new facilities again?

An Awful lot of coaching talent available

By FCOadmin. Posted in General | 4 Comments »

If some university were inclined to make a move right now, there is a glut of unemployed football coaches right now. The Grudens are looking for work. Phil Fulmer is unemployed. Tommy Tuberville? out of work. Tommy Bowden is unemployed. Tony Dungy is off the clock. I’m not saying these guys would take our job, but it sure is a head scratcher why with all those coaches out of work, why we are hanging on to a guy with a 26-36 record, sitting smack dab in the middle of a recruiting hotbed with brand new facilities. Seems like a place where a coach on hard times could find some instant success to build his resume back up. But what do I know?

Soon those invoices are coming

By FCOadmin. Posted in General | 5 Comments »

It’s almost that time again. Time to buy next year’s season tickets. What to do. What to do? Do I show my loyalty to my school and renew them again? Am I sending the right message to the administration by continuing to pay for tickets while this overpaid, underachieving coach laughs at us all the way to the bank? How do I justify spending money to watch up and down football in the worst economic times of our lives? See, this is the problem. We should be earger to write the check every year for the priveledge of purchasing season tickets to one of America’s finest universities.  We should not have to think twice about it. It should be as automatic as paying the rent or mortgage. Do you think Gator season ticket holders are wrestling with this decision? I highly doubt it.

Marve is now on the table

By FCOadmin. Posted in General | 3 Comments »

Miami has told Robert Marve that he will be allowed to transfer to either USF or UCF. This will be a good test for O’Leary. It’s a head to head matchup vs Leavitt. One on One. You lose, you have no excuse. Oh I’m sure he’ll come up with one. Marve is from Tampa. Grothe is gone, so the starting job is wide open. Blah Blah Blah. UCF needs this one George. If for no other reason, we need to beat USF at something.

Coaching changes at UCF

By FCOadmin. Posted in General | 6 Comments »

Tim Salem has been demoted from offensive coordinator to tight ends coach. Sounds like his next move will be custodian. That’s quite a drop isn’t it? At least GOL is admitting that coaching changes need to be made. It’s a start.

“After evaluating the season and taking some time so that they aren’t knee-jerk decisions, I think we need to get better on offense,” O’Leary said. “I thought that changes were needed in certain areas and those changes have been made. I am anxiously looking forward to next season and this new direction that we are heading in.

Thank you Captain Oblivious.
