That was about as pathetic a display as I have ever seen. This was UAB for crying out loud! And we cannot even SCORE?? Thank God we didn’t beat ECU. I would hate to take THAT into the off season knowing we had a chance to win the East. I know Greco was not exactly Steve Young out there this year, but he was STILL head and shoulders above anyone else we had. If he would have played QB all year this year, and we ran some type of spread option offense to utilize his running abilities, I am convinced we would be playing next week. But even with the offense we were running, I think he would have gotten the job done if he wasn’t constantly being benched. If George O’Leary is still coaching this team next season, I do not have much hope for improvement. I thought a guy with his reputation would be able to bring in talent. I don’t see much talent here. We’ve got lineman who can’t block, receivers who can’t catch, quarterbacks who can get a pass within five yards of anybody in a gold jersey, it’s pitiful!

I am so happy I was sick as a dog after Thanksgiving and couldn’t go to the game. My parents went though as they were visiting me for the holiday and when they came back they were looked like I felt…actually I think I felt better as I got to watch some real college football while I was puking and they had to sit through GoL trying to coach.

While some defend Mr. O’Leary and say he shouldn’t get all the blame, I just believe that as the current Head Coach, he IS responsible for whatever happens. If he isn’t calling the offensive plays, but continues to allow the poor play performances as the Head Coach, just who is at fault?
The same for the defense. I agree that each speacialized team’s coach is responsible for most of the plays called, BUT, if Mr O’Leary continues to allow the trash plays, the I propose he also gets tossed out with the rest of them. The Knights need a complete overhaul and we need it quickly. We continue to lose prospective talent as even high school seniors shy away from a losing program, no matter what baloney is fed to them. The biggest reason for a kid to come to UCF to play football is the wonderful education he’ll receive. If the player has aspirations to go further in football, he’s looking elsewhere, despite our contributions to the NFL. Look at Greco. Instead of getting the playing time, he’s warming the bench and receiving nothing from the coaching staff. He’s treated like he’s gotten the plague and that is because Mr O’Leary has cut him off at the knees. If he’s not a quarterback (and he doesn’t appear to be right now), why not use him in a more effective position, at least getting him to do something other than collecting the full boar he received?
Mr O’Leary, while he did bring the program up a few steps, just is not the guy to feliver this team to another level. Until he is gone, retired or fired, the Knights will remain the team that “coulda” and “shoulda” but didn’t.

I want to commend the creator of this site for a job well done. I like that you have created an outlet for people frustrated with the current state of UCF football while at the same time keeping the comments about George O’leary limited to his job as head coach and avoiding personal comments. As a GT alum and fan of the football team I’ve had first hand experience with this situation. Many of us watched as Chan Gailey failed year after year to produce results in line with the talent and resources of the football team. Eventually our prayers were answered. Hopefully the same will happen for UCF fans. Whether that answer is in the form of a new coach who can provide good consistent results or the existing staff turning things around. Ironically my early introduction to UCF football was when the Kruczek led team came to Atlanta and almost beat GT (with O’leary as the coach and G. Godsey as the quarterback). I think later that year they almost beat UGA. I remember the conversation after those games was that in a few years UCF footbal would emerge as a player on the national scene. Sadly, all the promise the program had shown in those years has all but evaporated. Yes there was a conference title last year, but the loss to a mediocre Miss St. team diminished that title in my eyes. I think UCF fans are right to believe that the football team should consistently challenge for CUSA titles AND be able to win some non-conference games against BCS schools.I think the Miami game and USF game were winnable games this year if UCF could have generated more offense (currently ranked last for total offense in FBS). Its got to hurt longtime UCF football fans to see the success of non-BCS football programs such as Boise St., TCU, Utah, Hawaii, and new BCS schools like Cinci and USF knowing that long before people heard of these schools UCF was on the cusp of breaking through. I’m glad they’ll have your website as a vehicle to push for positive change and get the football team you deserve.

We went to Atlanta more than once and threw a scare into the jackets. And yes, we did nearly beat UGA. We missed an extra point and there was an iffy offensive pass interference call late that cost us. Yes it does irritate us that other non BCS programs have blown right by us, including some in this very state. I don’y have anything against O’Leary personally. I will always look back fondly on the two East Championships we won and especially the C-USA Championship Game we won last year. But this school, if we choose to remain in C-USA for a while, should be the class of the league. Tulsa is back in the Championship Game this year. If a tiny school like that can stay on top in this league, then why can’t UCF? I’ll tell you why. George O’Leary.

Well, it’s official: O’Leary is staying. Knew it from the start, O’Leary is not going to resign, for anyone to do that would require someone with integrity, which we all know O’Leary does not have. Looks like several more years of inconsistent play from our football program with a real lack of direction. I thought Orsini really screwed us before he bolted for another job, I was hoping that Tribble would do something to clean up this mess and get the athletic program headed in the right direction again. But it doesn’t look like he going to do anything, more misery for the UCF fans.
Never liked the hiring of O’Leary from the start, just look at his record, poor recruiting, performance on the field. Look at some of the statements this guy makes, he says one thing and then a few sentences later he says the opposite, no wonder the team looks as bad as they do.
Make a statement by not going to the games, or buying the merchandise (which does not look that good by the way) and let everybody know that as long as O’Leary is around, we will not support UCF.
